The fatigue testing facility at Knight & Carver is the only private facility for the testing of wind turbine blades in the United States. We are performing full-scale fatigue testing of 50-meter diameter rotor to investigate rotor degradation, quantify operating life and optimize repairs.

In 2006, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) awarded Knight & Carver an exclusive contract to design, fabricate and field-test a Sweep Twist Adaptive Rotor (STAR) blade for utility scale wind turbines as part of the Dept. of Energy's Low Wind Speed Turbine (LWST) project. STAR blade testing is now underway.
